Spring vehicle maintenance tips to make sure your vehicle is road ready!

It’s Mid-March and Spring is in the air. Tulips are sprouting from their winter slumbers, and colorful tree buds are starting to fill the sky. Which means your car is itching to get on the road for a Spring Break road trip.

While your vehicle might not have hibernated this winter, the cold temperatures and road conditions have probably taken a toll on your car. Here are some general tips that may be helpful for spring car maintenance:

  1. Check the tires: After a long winter, it’s important to check your tires for wear and tear, uneven tread wear, and proper inflation. Make sure to replace worn-out tires and adjust the pressure as the manufacturer recommends.
  2. Change the oil and filters: Regular oil changes and filter replacements can help keep your engine running smoothly. Check your owner’s manual to see how often your vehicle needs an oil change. 
  3. Check the brakes: Your brakes should be checked regularly to ensure they are in good working condition. Have a mechanic inspect your brake pads and rotors to make sure they are not worn out. 
  4. Check the battery: Cold temperatures can take a toll on your battery. Check the connections and make sure the battery is charged and in good condition. 
  5. Check the fluids: Spring is a good time to check all of your vehicle’s fluids, including the coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and power steering fluid. Top off any fluids that are low and replace any that are dirty or contaminated.
